I would like to welcome you to the new online home of the Boiling Point Wheelchair Track Classic! This site will be an even easier and more resourceful interactive tool for athletes, coaches, officials, volunteers, sponsors, media outlets and fans alike. I'm confident you will find this site informative and easy to use.
Boiling Point 2010, the premiere athletics competition in Canada for athletes with a physical disability will be contested on the evening of Saturday, July 10, 2010. In three short years athletes and coaches from 11 different nations have given their praise for our organization and hospitality. Combined with the 4 World Records that have been broken during competition here since 2007, it’s easy to understand how Boiling Point has cemented itself as a Global leader within the international calendar of Para-athletics competitions.
We here at Boiling Point continue to strive to host the ultimate showcase of our great sport. The fact that an astounding 56 medals were won at the 2008 Beijing Paralympic Summer Games by athletes that have previously competed at Boiling Point alone is outstanding. The addition of our focus on coaching education and having the coaches of 10 World Record holders that have either attended or presented at the Boiling Point Coaches Symposium clearly demonstrates we are meeting our objective!
It brings me great pleasure to know that athletes from all classifications feel welcome and have competed at Boiling Point over the years. This simply is NOT a competition for wheelchair athletes alone. I also take great pride in the fact that in 2009 we were again able to have both the Men's & Women's shot put events contested for prize money!
I couldn't be happier with my Organizing Committee and their tireless efforts to bring this event to life. On behalf of that committee I would like to thank our partners, sponsors and volunteers who have believed in our vision and made the Boiling Point Wheelchair Track Classic a reality.
See you in July!
